Monroe County, TN......there is no better place to be........
Where else can you meet a truck with a dog in the bed, boats being pulled to the lake, horse trailers headed to the trails, kayaks on roofs of cars, motorcycles of every shape, size and color heading for Cherohala and Deals Gap, "The Dragon", four wheel drive trucks muddy and/or hauling muddy four wheelers, road bikes racing down the highway, mountain bikes strapped on the backs vehicles, jeeps with doors and tops off, wagon trains on the backroads, tractors being dusted off, fishing licenses being snatched up....Spring is here and this is the best place to be. How lucky we are.....

New York Rangers
Found this old car tag from the New York Rangers 1994 Stanley Cup win in a bunch of my old stuff. It's a little ratted and tatted but still in pretty good shape considering it's age.
My how time flies. Sorry NYR, the Nashville Predators have replaced you in my heart as #1.

But you'll always be #2.
Emma Lee
We've known about a month that Chris's mom has lung cancer. Luckily tests have shown it's just confined to one area of her lung. She'll have surgery to remove that portion of lung Friday. Please keep her and the family in your thoughts and prayers. This will be a tough surgery and recovery.
She is a special, special lady to so many.

Some call her Emma Lee, some Emily,
others call her "Put"
The lucky ones call her momma or nana.
Jack's "second" Second birthday party
Jack had his friends and family party the Saturday after his birthday. The party was at Lynette and Greg's house and was so good! Everyone seems to have a great time.

Cheerleading
I sit in amazement while watching those national cheerleading championships on tv. Those girls (and guys) are amazing athletes. I love watching and am so impressed in their abilities and creativity and strength. Wondering after watching the one from the weekend. Do they drug test those cheerleaders? Not that I'm saying they take anything. They are such athletes and it's pretty amazing all they are able to do.
Jack's "first" Second birthday party
Last week of March 2013
Jack had his "first" second birthday party at Chuckeecheese. I know I didn't spell that right. I'd never been in the place. Pretty neat stuff for the kiddos. Seems Jack had a great as most of the family did too.

Rolly Bat
I really do LOVE sports. But I have no athletic ability whatsoever. Rolly bat is more my speed. That's a great "sport" for someone like me.
Chris Mason
Chris Mason, back up goalie for the Nashville Predators, cleaned his beard up last week. I'm a bit disappointed. I was hoping he was joining the "Duck Dynasty" family.
This photo doesn't do the beard justice. It was longer than this and not as neat. Now it's close shaven.
Return to Me
I remember watching the movie "Return to Me" in Seattle with my friend Darlene. It was on today and I'd forgotten just how much I loved it. One of my favorite lines of all time is "hairy legs are your only link to reality". Great one Bonnie Hunt. Just love her too.
My Gardens.....
I'm over my head. This year I decided to start a flower garden. Only, I've ended up with eight places scattered over our farm growing flowers. Or trying to grow flowers. Gardening is an addiction. At least for me it seems.
Here are some photos of my many gardens. I didn't take any of the Cannas on a bank beside the road or the hostas down from those on the same bank. Forgive the no mulch. Still have to put that down. I'm gotten in over my head obviously.

These are at the edge of our porch facing the far hay field. HOPING the
spread and are thick and tall enough to cover the end of the porch.
These are at the corner of our front yard. I'm going to plant a tree but not sure what kind.
Looking for suggestions. An American Flag pole and birdbath are also in the plans.
These are growing on an ugly clay bank near the barn. Not sure
what they will be. I started them from bulbs. Hoping they spread
and cover the bank.
Started two elephant ears on another ugly clay bank near a paddock.
Hoping they will grow very large and hide the bank.
One side at bottom of driveway. It's a hodge podge of flowers. No idea how
it's all going to look and go together in the end. Must mulch soon!
Other side of bottom of driveway with several flowers I don't know
what are. And about 8-9 rose bushes I started last fall.
It will take years for them to get large and pretty
but that is okay. It's fun growing them.
Three sets of elephant ears I started on another ugly clay bank beside the big covered arena.
Once again, hoping these grow large to cover bank.
Original rose bush. Six are doing well. The front bushes are cut way
back. Disease has gotten hold.
New purchase last night. Two crape myrtles.
Now....where to plant...........
